Home sales rebounded slightly from a very slow August, but they were still off the pace from last year. The average price per square foot was down slightly,and the balance between homes for sale and homes that were in pending status remained unchanged.

Here’s a summary of what sold last month in the Southeast Heights:

Southeast Heights Home Sales
Home sales in the southeast heights were slow when compared to home sales last year. Sales in September 2012 (15) were down 25% from September 2011 (20). However there was slight improvement from last month with 2 more sales in September than there were in August. Pending homes were down considerably from last month.
SE Heights Price per Square Foot
The average price per square foot decreased slightly last month. Over the last year, the price per square foot averaged $95. In September the number was $94. Does this suggest that prices are headed back down? I don’t think so, but I’ll be watching closely over the next few months to see if prices continue to head up or not.
Available Home Inventory
Sale were up, but so were the number of homes available for sale. The months of inventory stat remained the same as last month.
